Camellia Oil Beats All - Five Highs & One Low

The Dietary Alpha-Linolenic Acid to Linoleic Acid Ratio:
The dietary alpha-linolenic acid to linoleic acid ratio of the camellia seed is 1:4, which is closer to human breast milk than other common edible oil. Linoleic acid is known for its beneficial properties on the skin and body.

High Unsaturated Fatty Acids Content:
The unsaturated fatty acid content, promoted by the long growth period of Camellia oil, is higher than other common edible oils.

High Smoke Point:
The smoke point of Shancha Camellia oil is above 406°F, which is substantially higher than that of olive oil. Using camellia oil ensures freshness and full retention of its nutritional properties.

High Temperature Resistance – Thermostablity:
At high temperatures common edible cooking oils yield peroxide, which is extremely harmful to the human body. Camellia oil contains antioxidants and can be fried continuously for 20 hours at high temperatures up to 406 °F without degradation or production of trans-fat; it is the ideal cooking oil.

Low Temperature Edible – Direct Use:
Common edible oil (vegetable oil, Canola oil, etc.) cannot be used directly without heating. Camellia oil, without additional heating, can be used directly as a salad dressing for a smoother, fresher, non-greasy taste.

DAILY USES OF CAMELLIA OIL

EDIBLE:
Camellia oil has a subtle flavor with high nutritional value and is the healthiest of all edible oils. Its nutrients are stable even at high temperatures; in fried dishes, the taste does not change. Camellia oil can be eaten directly without heating and exudes a hint of citric flavor which is very suitable for cold dishes and salads. It can be cooked both hot and cold temperatures, making camellia oil the perfect choice for cooks looking for a healthy option.

SKIN:
Camellia oil has been used topically on the skin since ancient times. It can be applied directly on the skin and absorbed quickly without being greasy. Even if the skin appears dry with signs of aging, the components of camellia oil can restore its youthful luster and give the skin a soft touch. In modern times, camellia oil remains natural in luxury skin care products. You can find camellia oil presents in all high end cosmetic products.

HAIR CARE:
Camellia oil is also ideal for cleaning and protecting the hair. Before chemical shampoo was made, people used boiled camellia meal (the leftover grind from pressing) to wash hair. Modern scientific research has found that camellia meal is indeed a rare raw material for natural shampoo and hair care with the advantages that synthetic chemical products don't have. These include its naturally organic properties, containing 12-17% of tea saponin, 8.75% protein and 6-9% camellia oil. With modern production technology, Shampoo and conditioner made with camellia plant extracts can effectively protect the hair, kill bacteria, protect against itchy and flaky scalp as well as prevent greying and hair loss. Laboratory experiments show that by adding camellia oil directly into shampoo at a ratio of 10 to 1, normal use can prevent hair loss.

Unsaturated fatty acids:
Camellia oil is comprised of 90% unsaturated fatty acids, making it the highest among all vegetable oils. UFAs promote healthy heart function as they can help lower cholesterol levels and decrease the risk of heart disease.

Polyphenols:
Polyphenols are micronutrients that act as an antioxidant and sterilizer against bacteria, viruses and germs. It can be effective in preventing cancer and cardiovascular disease as well as protecting against inflammation caused by certain chemicals. It can also lower cholesterol, blood sugar, and prevent stroke. Unlike olive oil, camellia oil is abundant in polyphenols.

Camellia Saponin
Camellia Saponin is a type of glycoside which relieves allergies and pain, reduces inflammation and has decongestant properties. Additionally, it can raise hormone levels, lower blood sugar and cholesterol as well as protect hair cuticles.

Squalene :
Squalene helps to prevent and fight cancer, promote healthy heart function and serve as an anti-inflammatory agent. The ability to penetrate the skin makes it an excellent anti-aging product. It has also been found to enhance the immune system when used in vaccinations.

Linoleic and linolenic acids:
Linoleic and linolenic acids are essential polyunsaturated acids that must be supplemented in diet. The specific ratio of 4:1 linoleic to linolenic acids must be adhered to so that oxidation does not occur in vessel walls. Camellia oil contains this ideal ratio.

Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamin E has many well known properties including its antioxidant effects, promoting healthy organ function, balancing cholesterol, and thickening hair. Zinc aids hormone production, growth and restoration in addition to improving immunity and facilitating digestion.
